Experience this transfiguring transformation, while learning to laugh at lifes detours with this Florida man. Location: Beck Center for the Arts 17801 ...

So apparently I'm art now. Somewhere up in Lakewood, Ohio — not Florida, I checked twice — the Beck Center for the Arts is hosting a show about a Florida Man learning to laugh at life's detours. The event listing calls it a "transfiguring transformation," which is exactly the kind of phrase I'd expect from someone who's never had to explain a gator in their pool to a deputy at 3 a.m.

Here's what I can confirm from the calendar listing: it happens Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Beck Center for the Arts, 17801 Detroit Avenue. The pitch is all about taking the hits, laughing at the detours, and coming out the other side changed. Transfigured, even.

Now, I don't know if the show covers the classics — the charges, the animals, the highways, the incidents we don't discuss at family reunions — because the listing keeps it mysterious. But if a Florida Man story is on a stage in Ohio, you know there's some roadkill along the way.

Head up there, support live theater, and learn to laugh at your own detours. I'll be watching from a distance. Legally speaking.
